Direct2drive and Gamecock Announce Digital Distribution Deal

Direct2Drive, IGN Entertainment's digital retail store, has announced an agreement to digitally distribute the upcoming 2008 PC titles from publisher Gamecock Media Group. Stronghold Crusader Extreme, is now available to gamers and is the first Gamecock title available for digital download on Direct2Drive. Along with Stronghold Crusader Extreme, Direct2Drive will offer the entire roster of upcoming titles from Gamecock including Insecticide, Velvet Assassin and Legendary.

Gamecock joins Direct2Drive's AAA roster of leading game publishers with titles available for digital download on Direct2Drive. The list includes Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and THQ among others, and underscores the growing investment the industry's top publishers are making in digital delivery. Since the site's launch in October 2004, more than one million games have been downloaded on Direct2Drive, and the site enables gamers to conveniently purchase and download the latest premium games and expansion packs from the world's top publishers. via Nestor Minsk
