TopSpin Ties For Facebook Ecommerce

Los Angeles-based TopSpin Media has inked a deal with Facebook music page application provider RootMusic, to offer up an e-commerce app for musicians on the popular social networking site. According to the two, the deal will allow artists to sell downloads, merchandise, and tickets directly from Facebook. Financial details of the link between the two companies was not disclosed. TopSpin's current clients using the software include the Beastie Boys, The Pixies, Kid Rock, Trey Songz, The Civil Wars, The Doors, and others. TopSpin--headed by Ian Rogers, the former GM of Yahoo Music--has a significant number of notable musicians and artists using its social marketing software, including Paul McCartney, Linkin Park, David Byrne & Brian Eno, Eminem, and Cee Lo Green, among many others. RootMusic is the developer of BankBage, an app which allows users to interact and sell their wares via Facebook
